i guess you used the generic charger with the fake and the real charger with the real one? if you use any generic charger with the genuine ipod, that would blow too. even if you use the wrong charger just once it can damage the battery so it breaks later. where can i get the knock off delivered to the uk, my son is looking forward to getting a pocket media player and that one with the camera looks perfect for him! (joke but you get the point) cheers for pointing out the differences.

My country (UK, Scotland to be exact) doesn’t have many exact copies at all. We have lots of knock-off crap, but it’s all rubbish, usually disintegrates in your hand, nothing like the first knock-off U2 iPod you showed us.
